Error while importing Excel files: The Microsoft.jet.OLEDB.4.0 provider is not registered on the local machine.

If you run into this error while doing excel imports, you may be able to correct it by adding 32 bit support to the application pool that the site runs in. 

** side effect: Please be aware that if you enable 32 bit support, the cookies used for the 'Remember me' feature will become invalid whenever the application pool is recycled.
